Prototypes and Model making manager ˇV CNC / 3D Printing / Manual maching / Metal Turning

Responsibilities:
Manage rapid prototype factory, services including CNC machining, 3D printing and manual machining
Provide coaching for development
Manage the factoryˇ¦s facilities, fabrication and finishing of all prototypes
Purchase and track the materials, tools and supplies according to project needs
Work closely with in-house product development team on concept prototype making
Collaborate with Designers and Engineers to brainstorm ideas and solutions to issues
Interface with suppliers/outsourced contractor on research, sourcing and making of assemblies, components and materials in accordance with models
Lead the development of prototypes throughout the entire product development process, including rough mock-ups, form studies, ergonomic testing prototypes, and finished sales samples
Manage project timeline, budget and quality of deliverables
Drive for continuous improvement of factoryˇ¦s efficiency and capability
Requirements:
Associates degree or Certificate Program required (Bachelorˇ¦s degree preferred) with a concentration in Industrial Automation, Rapid Prototyping, Manufacturing Engineering
10 years relevant experience in product development and model making
Knowledgeable in CAD/CAM/CNC
Solid experience in creating models to represent a variety of materials and processes including injection molded / blow-molded plastics, metal fabrication, finishing and painting, 3D printing, 3D Scanning, fabric construction and wood component assemblies
Hands-on experience on metal turning and milling
